Science education centre. View of the lobby of the Cite des Sciences et de l'Industrie (City of Science and Industry) at Parc de la Villette in Paris, France. This science centre was originally planned as an abattoir sales hall but this plan was abandoned in the early 1970s as it was no longer necessary. Construction began in 1983-4 and the centre was opened to the public in 1986.
