Killeen, the commanding officer for Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and a Mundelein, Ill., native, is given the opportunity to tear down a home, as part of a blessing and demolition ceremony, officially starting the construction project aboard MCB Hawaii, June 22, 2016. This ceremony was the official start of Phase 6, a multi-phased construction partnership where 276 homes will be torn down and rebuilt, which is part of the last major housing redevelopment on the Mokapu peninsula.
