The shape of the smoke-stacks also is changingfrom round to oval so as to present less surfaceat the front. As you are studying the question,if you compare the steamers with the sloping andstraight smoke-stacks, in one case the former,while motionless, still appears to have life whilethe rigidity of the other gives it an appearance ofstiffness even while under considerable Cunard Steamship Co., Ltd.
