In his window decorationsin the Birmingham Cathedral Church, and in his mosaics inthe American Episcopal Church in Rome, Bume-Jonesproved his capacity as a decorator. Before his entrance into this field it had been customaryto engage German artists, and several of the Nazarenes obtained commissions. Now under the inspiration of Ros-setti and Bume-Jones, a new taste developed in the decora-tion of public and domestic buildings.
