CRISPR Cas12a protein, molecular model

Molecular model of Cas12a (CRISPR associated protein 12a) complexed with its target DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, orange and yellow) and guide RNA (ribonucleic acid, red) molecules. CRISPR-Cas complexes are used in genome engineering to cut DNA. The RuvC cutting domain is blue and marked with a red and grey cutter. The target DNA strand (orange) has only been cut at one end (the cis end), the other end (the trans end) will be cut at the point of the bright light.
