During the winter, the beautiful sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol in southern Spain are frequently damaged by powerful storms, their sand being washed away. Large quantities of fresh sand then have to be deposited by man in order to keep the beaches attractive to tourists. This particular scene is of the repair work in progress on Playa Artola, Cabopino, Malaga Province, Andalucia. The trucks were fetching surplus sand that had been deposited by the storms further along the beach at Playa Cabopino and in possible danger of blocking the entrance to the marina at Puerto Cabopino.
