Within the hatched region the species has a common occurrence. occurrence of Tima bairdii are found in the literature. Thus it seems certain that it does not occur north and west of the North Sea. It is very remarkable and interesting that the distribution of one of the largest species among the Leptomeduste of the North-European waters is entireh restricted to a comparatively snudl area. _ Tima bairdii may be found at different depths.
