Such places are calleddeer yards, a term that is generallymisunderstood to mean that the deer re-main in some one well-defined place likecattle in a barnyard. Usually thetrack of the deer is unmistakable, butsometimes it is confused with the tracksof young cattle running wild in thewoods.
