The car body is of automobiletype, but on each side, in place of automobile wheels, is an endless chain of wooden treads, de-signed for work over snowso soft that wheels and tireswould sinkand beltor chain of^treads is 3ft. wide,and, forsteer in gpurposes,each side is under separate ^control, so that one belt can be stopped while theother carries the machine around a corner. In addition to this thereis a similar tread projecting out from the rear of the car, designed tohelp in steering it.
