Hume records a picture of onewhich was got in the Punjab, and also a statement that Colonel Irby killedone at Alumbagh near Lucknow. He has seen a pair among Grey Lags on a ANSER. 173 sandbank in the Jumna, and an assurance has been given him by ColGraham that it is not uncommon on the Brahmaputra in Assam. This is allwe know of its occurrence in India. In Northern Europe it is common, andprobably also Central Europe and Northern Anser albifrons. The White-fronted Goose. 213. Anser albifrons, Gm., Naum.
