The rhythm of the hexameters is clearlythat of Lucan, while the vocabulary is mainly of Ovid. ^ Themythology is founded mainly on the Timaeus. The eternal semi-naria of created things are mentioned, and it has been conjecturedthat the work exhibits traces of the influence of Lucretius,^ butthe general line of thought is clearly related to Neoplatonicliterature.
