Placards against UK locking up of poor and children at London protest on the 11th anniversary of the jailing of the Cuban Five

The 11th anniversary of the jailing of the Cuban 5, political prisoners in the US, was marked by events around the world urging their release. In London, Rock around the Blockade held a rally outside Angel Tube station in Islington across lunchtime, speaking and handing out leaflets in the busy street. The rally was supported by other groups including Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! They were imprisoned for having infiltrated CIA-backed expatriate Cuban terrorist groups based in Miami, Florida. They were discovered when the Cuban government passed the evidence of this illegal expatriate activity to the US administration. The US didn't take action against the illegal activities of the expatriate Cubans, but instead jailed those who had exposed them.
