Boundary Stone on the footpath between the plague village of Eyam and Stony Middleton, Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England

The Boundary Stone in the fields between Eyam and Stony Middleton was used to leave money, soaked in vinegar, which was believed to kill the infection. Money was placed in exchange for food and medicine. Stony Middleton was not affected by the plague. The stone had 6 holes drilled into its surface where money was left as payment
