Salinas Grandes on Argentina Andes is a salt desert in the Jujuy Province. It is of industrial importance for its sodium and potassium mines. More significantly, Bolivas Salar de Uyuni is also located in the same region and is estimated to contain up to 80% of the worlds lithium deposits.
