Suspension bridge for pedestrians and cyclists connect the Fairview developements with the centre of Ipswich saving a long walk . Bridge opened 2009. River Gipping or Orwell? The Gipping flows from a source near Stowmarket through the Suffolk countryside becoming the Orwell at tidal limit. Some say the defining point is Stoke Bridge very near the Ipswich Marina but the lock by the Sainsburys Car park west of London Road bridge seems also to qualify. In any case they are the same river.
