To the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen : Gentlemen : — My report as Inspector of Animals for the Cityof New Bedford for the year 1916 is herewithsubmitted. An examination of all neat cattle, sheepand swine, as ordered by the Commissioner of AnimalIndustry, was made in January and February and adetailed report covering their health and stablingconditions rendered to him on completion of the was at that time 613 neat cattle, 152 pigs, 9sheep and several goats, all of which, with very fewexceptions, were in good health and comfortablyhoused. During the year there have been two casesof tuberculosis in cows and three cases of glandersin horses disposed of; the carcasses of same renderedand the premises where the animals were found werethoroughly cleansed and disinfected, as were also thes
