The Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, performs a precision aerial maneuver at the 2022 Wings Over Columbus Airshow on March 26, 2022, at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss. Officers in the Thunderbirds serve a two-year assignment with the squadron, while enlisted personnel serve three to four. Replacements must be trained for about half of the team each year, providing a constant mix of experience.
