Phantom Galaxy, JWST and HST image


Composite James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Hubble Space Telescope (HST) combined optical and mid-infrared image showing Messier 74 galaxy, also known as Phantom Galaxy. M74 is located around 32 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Pisces. The red colours show dust in the arms of the galaxy and lighter orange areas of hotter dust. Older stars towards of the centre of the galaxy are shown in green and cyan. Bubbles of star formation are shown in pink across the arms.
