A Japanese teppo, Meiji period. Non-functional weapon for decorative purposes. Round ichikaku barrel flattened at top with slightly swamped muzzle, suriwari rear sight and sugi front sight, smooth bore in mm calibre (8 monme). The barrel with a depiction of Endo Morito under a waterfall as well as bonji and an aimon in nunome-zogane in brass, copper and shinshu (partially rubbed). The underside of the barrel inscribed "Goshu Kunitomo Yukitaju Norio". Smooth brass lock with interior spring, the pan and barrel without vent hole.
