Every session has been abusy one, and mam- of them havebeen of especial interest. At the be-einninz of this present year, SenatorMcGuire introduced a joint resolutionin which a former suffrage bill wasto be repealed, but^ the measure failedbecause of the suffrage sentiment. Ata later date, Senator Perks bill pro-viding for a U. S. Central Bank waspassed. The most engrossing business ofthe first part of the present year, how-ever, was the trial of Senator John-son. The attorneys for the prosecu-tion, Senators Beitman and Witham,charged the defendant with malfea-sance of office, because he had forgedthe name of Senator Beitman to a Senators DeVore and Davis wontheir case from the jury on a plea ofsympathy, and Judge Sydney S. Aron-son handed
