Bupropion antidepressant, molecular model. Bupropion is an atypical antidepressant that acts as a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) and nicotine receptor antagonist. The compound is an amphetamine derivative used primarily to treat depressive disorder and smoking cessation. Bupropion is effective for ADHD, although it has not been medically approved for ADHD. Atoms are colour-coded: carbon is black; hydrogen is white; chlorine is green; nitrogen is blue; oxygen is red.
