The exchange is located at Ninety-Ninth Street and ThirdAvenue, in rooms specially built for it above the car shops ofthe company. Fig. 1 is a floor plan of these rooms, showing thegeneral arrangement of the apparatus. Thecords are colored white, brown or green, each cord being of acolor different from the adjacent ones. The switchboard is alsoprovided with a testing section on which a voltmeter and cordcircuits are placed for making ordinary line tests.
