It is the most hearty of all the clovers, perennial. On rich, moist soils it yields an enormous quantity of hay or pasture, and may be cut several times in a season, but its greatest value is for sowing with other clovers and grasses, as it forms a thick bottom and greatly increases the yield of hay, and cattle prefer it to any other forage. Sow in spring or fall at the rate of six pounds per acre, where used alone. Sixtv pounds per bushel. Lb. postpaid, 35c, 3-lbs. $; by freight 25c per lb. $ per bushel (60 lbs".) $ per 100-lbs. Crimson or Scarlet Clover It can be seeded at any time from June to October, at the rate of fif- teen to twenty pounds per acre, and makes the earliest possible spring pasture, blooming the latter part of April or May and for feeding; as hay should be cut just before coming into full bloom. If sown with Italian Rye Grass or Orchard Grass, which matures at the same time, it yields luxuriant and nutritious crops for pasture. Sow Crimson Clover at the last working of all crops like beans, corn, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes and other crops, whenever the land is not intendel for such early spring crops as would not be benefitted by follwing such a seeding, although it would pay to seed for only fall and winter months, if only for protecting the ground through the winter and catching and holding the fertility of the soil, which would otherwise be lost by leaching or other causes.
