Aerial view of part of Holland House, Kingsgate Bay and the North Foreland Golf Course, Thanet, Kent

Kingsgate Bay has some of the best examples of sea caves in Thanet. The sandy bay offers calm and seclusion. While sand is exposed at high tide, the beach does get cut off by the sea at both ends. Holland House, Kingsgate, in Kent, is a Georgian country house built between 1762 and 1768 as his retirement home by the politician Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland (1705-1774), of Holland House in Kensington. It is a Grade II listed building. North Foreland Golf Club, Broadstairs - situated on the Kent coast at the point where the English Channel becomes the North Sea, is a cliff top downland course that offers seaside golf at its very best. With a view of the sea from every tee and every green, North Foreland is a free running chalk-based course, and is possibly Kent's premier all-year-round course - confirmed by the number of returning visitors and societies. Originally a nine hole course, it was expanded when Lord Northcliffe bought additional land in 1912 and employed Fowler & Simpson to design the full 18. The 6,412 yard par 71 championship course was used in qualifying for the 2003 Open Championship. A fine par three 18-hole course is also available.
