He was a member of the Handel and Haydn Societyof Boston from 1872 to 1888, being a director in it sixyears; a member of the Cecilia Club from 1874 to 1888,being librarian all the time; also belonged to the ApolloClub since March, 1874, being examiner of voices forseveral years.
