Poinological Society, 1881, p. 168.] Mr. Moore says: ' 'At the an- nual exhibition of the Massachu- setts Horticultural Society, Sept. 14, 1886, we exhibited a number of bunches of Eaton, the two LARGEST OP WHICH WEIGHED 29 AND 30 OUNCES RESPECTIVELY. Two First-class Certificates of i Merit have been awarded this variety by the above named so- ciety. Also a Silver Medal at its recent meeting. 'At the Bay State Fair, at Boston, 1886, the Eaton attracted much attention, and was awarded the first prize for any variety not named in the, schedule. "Since 1883 we have had this new grape under cu i. ivation. and have fruited it for the last two years. In c mparison with the Concord, the vine is more vigorous and I fully as productive, while the fruit is much larger, more attractive, and of better ; T. S.
