Temple of Venus and Rome once stood back to back, overlooking the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

The largest and most splendid of Rome's temples, the Temple of Venus and Rome was designed by Hadrian, himself and finished by Hadrian's successor Antoninus Pius.
