American biologists Edgar Anderson and Berwind P. Kaufmann standing in a garden shelter. Anderson (1897-1969) was a botanist, whose book 'Introgressive Hybridization' was an important contribution to botanical genetics. Kaufmann (1897-1975) was a botanist and geneticist who did pioneering work on the structure of chromosomes and chromosomal rearrangements induced by ionizing radiation. Photographed in 1941.
