RAJA RHIZACANTHUS REGAN AND RAJA PULLOPUNCTATA SMITH 5 I I closely associated with the structure and number of the internal cartilages, and therefore differences in the structure of the glans will be shown by differ-ences in the terminal cartilages. In R. pullopunctata there are a total of fivecartilages in the terminal group (2 dorsal terminals, i ventral terminal and2 accessory terminals), while in R. batis six terminal cartilages are present (3dorsal terminals, i ventral terminal and 2 accessory terminals) (figs. 5, 7). Although there is a great difference in the size of these elements, theirdifferences in shape and their position may be examined. The dorsal terminal icartilage is similarly situated in both R. batis
