There are similarities in many elements of design with the work of Jean Bérain I, even though these elements, according to Standen, would not have been used from any single plate. The Nelson-Atkins Museum suggests the Bacor workshop, Paris may have been involved in the weaving, but it is only tentative. The present panel was woven in 2 pieces. This portière, with a plain background was probably part of a set which may have originally included 8 panels (of which 3 are known to exist in American public collections). Standen suggests there may have been another piece with a plain background, 4 with garden backgrounds & 2 with country landscapes.
