Tokyo Exhibition of Taiwan Between the Wars

Chinese Great Qing was defeated in the First Sino-Japanese War (1894–95) and Japan took over control of Taiwan and Penghu. Inhabitants wishing to remain Qing subjects were given a two-year grace period to sell their property and move to mainland China. Very few Taiwanese saw this as feasible. This was an exhibition while Japan held control of the Chinese territory.
