Birling Gap, East Sussex, UK. 16th February 2014. Couple leave their holiday home due to the storms. Mr and Mrs Oaten from Surrey have owned the end cottage for 5 years as a family holiday place. It was wonderful said Mrs Oaten this afternoon, we had hoped for at least another 4 or 5 years. However relentless storms over the past months have caused accelerated erosion to 1 meter from the cottage and the shed was undercut. The shed is being burned with accumulated furniture and artifacts. Credit: David Burr/Alamy Live News
