Mongolia: Batumongke Dayan Khan, Khagan of the Northern Yuan Dynasty (r. 1479-1517/1542), 20th century. Batumöngke Dayan Khan (1464-1517/1542) was a Borjigin Khagan who reunited the Mongols under Chinggisid supremacy in post-imperial Mongolia. Dayan Khan was enthroned as Great Khan of the Yuan Mongol Empire, though his ancestor Toghan Temur failed to maintain pan-Mongolism of the Mongol Empire a century before. He is remembered as one of the most glorious Mongolian Emperors, solidifying their Chinggisid identity and leaving behind a decentralised but stable Mongolia under Borjigin rule.
