One of the oldest buildings in Biloxi, the Historic Old Brick House was laced on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and subsequently designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1987. The house was originally built in 1850 by John Henley, a former sheriff and mayor of Biloxi. After the home was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the restoration of Biloxi's Old Brick House was made possible with the assistance of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH), the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA)
