Muscle fibrosarcoma, light micrograph. Fibrosarcoma (fibroblastic sarcoma) is a malignant (cancerous) mesenchymal tumour derived from fibrous connective tissue. It is characterised by the presence of undifferentiated proliferating fibroblasts that appear as spindle cells with pale, poorly delimited cytoplasm and elongated, tapering nuclei, arranged classically in a herringbone fascicular pattern.
