Emerging from the cut men-tioned we at once enter LITTLE RIDEAU LAKE. A beautiful sheet of water containing some very fine islands,on which are located many modern and artistic cottages. Onthe north shore of the lake is the Laurentian Range of mountains,at the base of which are several pretty cottages, notably LincolnPlain, owned by G. Frank Reynolds, Decorative Artist. Westport, a village of 1,600 population, is charmingly situ-ated on the west shore of the lake. It is a bustling place, withgood hotels and private boarding houses, fine churches, excellent. Its citizens are progressiveand are a unit in all that tends toward the prosperity of thevillage. To the west of the town limits lies Sand Lake, notedfor its pickerel or wall-eyed pike. On its banks are a numberof summer cottages. About a mile west of Sand Lake is WolfeLake, which has recently attained great prominence as one ofthe best resorts for bass fishing in Ontario.
