They had an immense stock and had to acquire an additional store on Second avenue to accommodate it all. Miss Burns had a big supply of Easter lilies and did a good business, though the prevalence of these flowers was evident. The Paris Florist, in expectation of the usual Easter rush, took a store on the opposite side of Pike street, which, like their regular establishment, was well stocked with good flowers. Mr. Matria reports business hardly up to that of former years. The Crescent Flower Store, in its limited space, got fully the average sale of flowers, but prices had to be cut in some cases to meet the competition. The Hollywood Gardens had a large stock and were advertising lilies and other flowers at low rates. The most notable flowers seen here this Easter were the French hy- drangeas. Of these, some excellent plants were displayed, proving the adaptability of these plants for Easter trade. T. W. POETLAND, ORE. The Market. Ideal weather Easter Sunday and for the half-week previous favored the flo- rists, and a large volume of Easter business was done. Lilies and corsage flowers were the best sellers. The de- mand for orchids was fair. Large pans of lilies and expensive basket ar- rangements were not so popular as lower priced items. The number of sales was probably greater than usual, but the amount realized was somewhat less. Prices showed no advance over the figur
