Isaac Barrow (1630-1677), English mathematician and cleric. Barrow became Lucasian professor of mathematics at Cambridge 1663, a post from which he resigned in 1669 to make way for Isaac Newton. He was appointed Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1672, and was the founder of its library.
