Atlast we came to a small hill, and it was agreedbetween Bill and myself that he should takethe valley on one side, and I on the other,and that we should meet beyond it. I had not gone far before a rabbit ran byme, and entered a thicket at a little I followed it, but it plunged further into thebushes. I pursued it from place to place,from thicket to thicket, but without beingable to get a shot at it. At last I was obligedto give up the pursuit in despair, and I setout to join my companion.
