Herrington country park has a wide range of sculptures, gardens, open space and lakes as well as a play park, ampitheatre, BMX and skateboard track. It has been well thought out with themed seating in a most picturesque setting. The site was formerly a spoil heap from Herrington colliery, the coal from the spoil heap was recovered and this jewel of a site created.
