(See cut) 10 Dreer's Superb Asters Of the general beauty of these flowers it is unnecessary to speak ; the immense world-wide demand for them shows their adaptability for any climate; and coming into bloom, as they do, when most other flowers are fading away, enhances their value. Culture.—The ground for the cultivation of Asters cannot be too richly prepared. Sow in sliallow boxes in the greenhouse, hot-bed or light window, in a temperature of 60 deg., cover the seeds to a depth of about four times their size, press down with a board, water witli a spray, and do not allow to dry out; when the seedlings have formed three leaves, transplant 1 inch apart into similar boxes or 2-inch pots, and plant out in the gar- den after danger from frost is over. Tliey can also be sown in the open ground after danger is over from frost. Special attention is directed to the Asters offered on page 5. P^EONY PERFECTION ASTERS.
