Business has been very good in tliis market the past week and while stock in general was scarce the early part of the week the warmer weather of Monday and Tuesday brought a large supnly to the market on Wednesday morning and prices fell off. Roses which have been off cut with a num- ber of the growers are coming in in more abundant quantity and better quality and while the stems are still short they are firmer and the flowers of better substance. American Beauty and Killarney are still the best sellers and for these roses there is a good demand. Bride and Bridesmaid are still small, but of better quality. Richmond is in fair demand. There is a large supply of gladioli, long spiked and fresh, 'with light colors predominating. Indoor carnations, while the stems are not very long, are especially good for this season and are ready sellers at a cent and a half. NOTES. Geo. Sykes, Chicago manager of the Lord & Burnham Co., has secured the following orders for greenhouses: Fancher Creek Nu
