Thus equinus maybe combined with varus or with valgus, and thesame is true of calcaneus. In designating such adeformity, the names of the two component distor-tions are combined, the more important being al-ways placed first. Thus, when equinus and varusare united, it is styled equino-varus or varo-equi-nus, according as the equinus or varus is the more WHAT IS TALIPES? 21 prominent, and the same principle of nomenclatureis used for calcaneo-varas and valgus.
