A recent in- troduction from China, with foliage similar to but not as large as the Virginia creeper, the leaves being of greater substance, and prettily variegated. The ground color is deep vel- vety-green, the midrib and principal veins of silvery white. Price, either of the above strong plants, 75 cts. each. HEDGE PLANTS Berberis Thunbergi {Japan Barberry). Where a dwarf de- ciduous hedge is wanted, nothing equals this beautiful Barberry. Requires but little pruning to keep in shape. The leaves are small, light green, and towards fall assume rich, brilliant colors, the fruit or berries becoming scarlet.
