In my wanderings among thesehills skirting the Atlantic, especi-ally near the foreshore, I have come across remains of greatantiquity, fragments of walls, aqueducts and temples. There arealso the ruins of a great amphitheatre which according to the JesuitFather Julius Furgus, who visited them recently, could accommo-date 50,000 persons.
