The front land cost twelve shillings per squareyard, so that the total cost of the land, buildings, interior fittings, boun-dary wall, &c, will be little short of £20,000. THE CATHOLIC CHAPEL IN GEORGE-STREET Was erected in 1827; it is 84 feet in length, 41 feet in breadth, and 31feet in height; It is a substantial and well-finished edifice, with a hand-some stone front in the Doric order, having a Jerusalem cross in the centreof the pediment. The interior is beautifully fitted up; the organ, a supe-rior instrument, was built by Parsons, of London. The Chapel is dedi-cated to St. John, of Jerusalem. The Catholics were subject to severepersecution after the Reformation, and met in secret for the purpose ofcelebr
