SS Persia Memorial Sundial
The sundial commemorates the sinking by a German U-Boat of the P&O passenger ship on 30th December 1915 off the island of Crete. Eleanor Thornton the inspiration for the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy emblem died in the disaster.
