Statue of St Aidan, on edge of churchyard, with a Celtic cross, doubling as back support and halo, holding a flaming torch & bronze crozier. Made 1958 by sculptress Kathleen Parbury: modelled in clay then cast in cement mixed with red sandstone to echo the colouring of the priory. Parbury died in 1986 and is buried in the churchyard.
