For the Central and Northern States, we consider this the best general cropper for the home market; has too thin a rind for shipping unless packed in straw. Fruits laiger than Halbert Honey or Kleckley's Sweet and ten days earlier; rind light green, mottled and veined; flesh bright scarlet, solid to the center, tender, sweet, melting and delicious. Few, if any, surpass it for quality and productiveness.
