CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (Feb. 26, 2019) Sailors attached to the future USS Charleston (LCS 18) run across the brow during a rehearsal for the ship’s upcoming commissioning ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina. LCS 18 will be the sixteenth littoral combat ship to enter the fleet and the ninth of the Independence variant. It is the sixth ship named for Charleston, the oldest and largest city in the state of South Carolina.
